More Than a Crown
Participating in a pageant taught me that fashion is more than what you wear it’s how you present who you are to the world. Every outfit I chose told a story about confidence, poise, and individuality. Learning how to walk, dress, and express myself through color and design made me realize that true style comes from self-belief. The pageant world challenged me to grow emotionally and mentally, not just aesthetically. It showed me that fashion is an extension of our inner strength and self-worth.
It also taught me something even deeper: leadership starts with how you carry yourself. When you show up with confidence, people feel it. When you stay poised under pressure, people trust you. And when you express your true self unapologetically, you give others permission to do the same. Pageantry became a space where I learned to guide, inspire, and lead not through authority, but through authenticity. By embracing my personal style and presenting it with intention, I learned how to influence others in a positive, and an empowering way.
A short clip of being part of The Metropolitan as a news anchor to help raise funds for my pageant! 🎤✨
Confidence didn’t come overnight. During the pageant, I was always placed first—whether for interviews, walkouts, or stage rehearsals—and everyone relied on me to set the pace. It taught me that leadership sometimes shows up in unexpected ways: when you’re the one others look to for stability, composure, and the confidence to start strong.Standing on stage under bright lights, surrounded by talented women, forced me to face self-doubt and turn it into determination. I began to understand that confidence is built through preparation, self-awareness, and grace under pressure. When I walked across that stage, it wasn’t just a fashion show—it was a reflection of how much I had grown inside.
In the pageant being on time for rehearsals, fittings, and interviews taught me professionalism and respect for others’ time. I spent hours researching, practicing answers, and reflecting on what truly defined my purpose and values. It wasn’t just about rehearsing responses — it was about understanding who I was and how I wanted to represent myself. The commitment to the process reminded me that growth comes from consistency, confidence, and authenticity, not perfection. Every practice session helped me strengthen my voice and belief in my own story.
I also formed meaningful friendships with other contestants, learning how to support and uplift each other instead of competing negatively. Those lessons in teamwork, dedication, and accountability helped shape the kind of person and professional I strive to be today. The pageant taught me that true confidence and success come from character, kindness, and personal growth—not titles or appearances.
As part of my pageant journey, I wanted to show how much I care about children’s happiness, so with the money we raised, I traveled to Morocco and brought candy to kids in a small village to make them smile. It was a simple gesture, but seeing their excitement and joy reminded me how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
This experience also deepened my commitment to service. It taught me that giving back isn’t about grand gestures—it’s about showing up, connecting with people, and spreading joy wherever you can. Making this video allowed me to share a message and highlight the importance of compassion, community, and using your platform to uplift others.
